Twins announce that they are going to transfer Nick Blackburn to the 60 Day DL, ending his season. This move was made so the Twins could call up Infielder/Outfielder Brian Dinkelman (played for the Twins earlier this year ****) and Pitcher Kyle Waldrop. Both had been playing for the Triple AAA Redwings in Rochester, New York. Twins also call up Liam Hendriks who was also pitching for Triple A Rochester to start the game on Tuesday versus the Chicago White Sox. They have no yet announced the corresponding move. They also are planning on calling up Matt Tolbert (already on the 40 man roster) when the Triple A season ends.
Gardy also said that if they can get Twins First basemen Justin Morneau healthy that he would DH the rest of the season. Joe Mauer returned to the line up on Sunday as the DH and will not catch either one of the game in the Double Header against Chicago on Monday. He will either DH/DH or DH/1B. Michael Cuddyer's wrist is continuing to bug him but he is still in the starting line-up everyday.
Brian Duensing was removed from Saturday's game with a strain right oblique and is going to stop throwing for a few days and hopefully will be able to pitch again soon.
**** Brian Dinkelman' stats: 6 games, 15 ABs, 4 hits, 2 RBI's, 2 IBB, .286 AVG
